Roulette is the first single from Synapser’s upcoming album Nightrumor, an album that marks a special milestone as the group celebrates 20 years of creating music together.

Their first CD, Beauty Is a Rare Thing (Auand Records), was released in October 2004—an incredible journey that has made Synapser one of the most enduring bands in Italian jazz.

When you discover a tune of yours that you didn’t remember and that you only played on one occasion! 🙂 The title is “No Excessive Noise”

A soundcheck is an essential part of preparing for a live music performance. It is a process in which the band checks and adjusts the sound of their instruments and equipment, as well as the balance of the overall sound.

Sometimes, the soundcheck can be a somewhat tedious and repetitive process. However, while some musicians may find soundchecks less exciting than actual performances, they represent an essential and necessary part of the live music experience.

For this occasion we got together, me and the “Synapser” musicians, after quite some time.

In this video, I have collected some beautiful photos taken by Dino Ferruzzi, which I believe tell the story of the different emotions of our human and musical reunion.

The music in the background is a fragment of our interpretation of “Beauty Is a Rare Thing”, a tune by Ornette Coleman, a great musician we wanted to pay homage to on our first Cd. We precisely gave this album the same meaningful title as the song. That was in 2004. And even today, beauty is a rare thing.

“Big Monitors” is a new music project that in “Knots and Notes” mixes original compositions with a tribute to William Parker.

Let’s just say that it’s a free interpretation of a tireless musician and composer who offers us his perspectives and world views through music.
